Embracing Kawaii Even With A Busy Room - Kawaii Room Inspo

Hi Cuties!

For once it's Amy posting instead of Clairey. I wanted to do this post a few months ago, but now that I'm done with Uni I have the time now yay!

During uni I've been embracing Japanese fashion and bringing general kawaii into my life more. I want to be myself more completely which was something I was very nervous to do, but in the end is was the best thing ever and I wish I did it earlier! I ended up getting my best marks of the year doing a trend prediction package using Japanese fashion as references.

But Another way I brought in kawaii in my life was making my room kawaii. However my bedroom is my sewing studio / Art studio with sewing machines, A2 sketchbooks and art stuff everywhere. My room is super busy and cluttered with all of my uni stuff which means I can't do intense cute stuff everywhere. So I focused on My walls!

Cute stuff on my wall doesn't get in the way and is also super inspiring. I love my Kera poster and flower lights. The large posters came in useful since I mostly had small prints woops! Also spot the Ozzy my cute old doggie I miss him so much.

Alongside my Brogan Coral and Shiroi Room (I'm sorry I don't know the other artists names) art I have a few shop items such as my Mars shopping bag and Acdc Rag postcard. Me and Clairey have the matching tops on the postcard.

I love my Pokemon cuties, but as you can see I'm definitely not finished yet! I need some smaller things to fill in the gaps, so I'm on the look out for more cute artists.

Luckily I also have some shelves that I can fill with all my cute plushies. I only keep my fashion books on the top so I don't have to mess up my plushies yay!

I think you can tell I love pink. I have my One spo faux fur scarf Clairey bought me displayed as it's too cute to put away for winter.

This is where I keep all of my smaller items such as tsum tsums. Everything keeps falling over so its hard to keep tidy!

And even next to my fashion books I have my J fashion magazines, We love Ageha as you can see! Clairey bought me the my melody plushie when she bought her kuromi one, they suit us so much since I love sweet things and shes into dark things more.

So that's my kawaii but contained room, I know many can't have fully decorated room but we can still make it cute in small ways!

Oh, who's your favourite kawaii artist? I'd love to know more artists!

Stay Cute! xxxx

Magical Harts One Year Anniversary ~ Dreams, Triumphs and Reflections

Hi cuties!

If you told me a year ago that I'd be selling my crafts online and sharing my passion and designing my little heart out I would probably say "yeah, in my dreams".

But fast forward a year and I can say yes, I am doing this. Not in my dreams and I'm doing this with someone I love and cherish. My twin Amy ♥

Every story has a beginning, so lets start from there. Me and sis have always loved being creative together. Either through doing cute Japanese fashion inspired looks, blogging and creating small accessories. My life dream is to have our own fashion brand with my twin. Twin being the essential part. As continued to grow and get more inspired through different J fashion styles my dream to open a shop with my sister were trying to burst through the seems.

Twinny and me as babies.

But I doubted myself. My sister can sew, she goes to university doing a fashion degree.  Me? Well I've never said it before but I feel like I can share this now. I someone who stays at home because I struggle with a mental illness. I'm not ashamed, and I feel good about sharing this now. Just because your mentally ill doesn't mean that you can't do nothing and aren't talented.

Amy would come home from a day of university and teach me how to sew and teach me a lot of different techniques and slowly because of her I began to see that we really could do this, we could have our own shop. But we first needed a name.

We were really heavily inspired by Japanese street fashion but for me especially it was magical girls. Sailor moon, Card Captor Sakura, Tokyo Mew Mew I could go on and on. I love the brightness and the hyper cuteness of their outfits and looks. School girls by day, protecting the world by night it is pure girl power. So the name Magical Harts came around and it felt like a perfect fit.

My belief in the shop kept growing stronger and stronger as we came up with original designs and patterns each time making sure there wasn't any flaws and that we felt like they were strong and sturdy enough.

We wanted to start off with some accessories but have more plans to expand our shop further and further. We started off small, but then added hats and necklaces, scarves, and more. Seeing the product in my hands when I finished felt so rewarding. Like I made this, I put in my time and effort and made this. And oh boy when we started making our first sales, I felt euphoric.

I felt validated. I was enjoying myself and loved sharing my passion with other people. I felt like I could actually do something and whilst sure there is a lot of hard work that goes into running the shop and sometimes there are quieter times this has gave me a belief system like no other.

We are currently planning and making mock ups of more items and pieces to add to the store. And looking into other areas too. Amy, I love you so much and I'm so glad that we can share this together. You are my creativity ♥

I didn't do this blog to brag though, not at all. I wanted to share my experience in the hope that it might help someone. You are talented, and you should go for that dream you have big or small. There are learning curves and things you learn through experience but you can do it. If I didn't go for it I really think I'd still be in that down bad space. Sure I still struggle at times but I'm so much more positive now. I approach things with a can do attitude and if I doubt myself I can look at the items I've made and pictures of customers enjoying their items.

If you want to leave any comments asking about how we went about opening our store online or anything else please do.

And remember, I believe in you ♥

De Japan Shopping Service Review & Haul WC, Swimmer and Super Lovers

Hi Cuties!

So recently we were approached by DeJapan a new Japanese shopping service that wanted to sponsor us to do a review. So whilst this is sponsored, our opinions are totally our own and what we really think.

Dejapan is a proxy shopping service to help you buy whatever items you want from Japan and Japanese auction sites. The biggest thing about DeJapan is that they don't charge commission instead, they have a simple consolidation plan you pay in the second payment for 100 yen for each item no matter how big or how expensive. They also have native English speakers that are ready to help you if needed and they also do a blog to keep you updated on Japans newest trends.

Here's some information on how to shop with DeJapan

We decided to get our items on a Rakuten Japan set of shops called Vector. Here's the thing, Vector has different shops for each of their locations. You will need to translate the sites but if you search through the DeJapan website, they translate it for you.

When we placed the order and went through this first payment, the very next day they placed the order. They update you and send emails all the way throughout so you don't have to worry and keep checking all the time. After the items arrive to their warehouse you pay the second payment.

The second payment is when you pay the consolidation fee. So we had four items, which means you pay 400 yen. So that's £2.74 or in USD $3.53 in total. Which is way less than other fees I've had to pay on other Japanese shopping services. You also pay the domestic delivery fee which for us was 700 yen for four items which was what we thought it would be and then you pay the international delivery fee and you can also choose a packing plan if you want extra peace of mind. They have a number of shipping options that you can choose from EMS, SAL, air, surface and FedEx. We choose EMS and completed the second payment. Again the very next day they posted our items.

It only took three days for our items to arrive from Japan to the UK. They were in a nice strong shipping bag and all the items were nicely folded and packed in protective wrapping.

Here are the items!

An old school W*C item back in their gyaru days. I'm so surprised by the quality, it's like it's never been worn.

Another old school W*C piece, this time with Kumatan on! Though this piece is a little more worn, it's absolutely adorable!

Next is a piece from Super Lovers, which is one of my fave brands ever! Chose this cardigan as I thought it could add a brilliant pop of colour to an outfit.

Lastly this Princess quilted Swimmer tote bag. Which is really good quality. It has a clasp to keep the bag shut and a helpful pocket inside.

So overall based on our own experience it was all really good. And we are being 100% honest. They were always quick to act and made us feel at ease throughout the order. The consolidation fee is simple and clear and a really good deal.

If you want to know more about DeJapan they have a helpful FAQ.

We also did a video on our experience too if you want to check it out.

Thanks for reading cuties! xoxo

The Tale of Twins: Birmingham and the Working Blues

Hey cuties!

Recently both of us were able to go on a rare trip out together to Birmingham. Well it kind of was a working trip. You see Amy goes to uni doing a specialised fashion course and it practically takes up her days, weeks, months. Well just everything.

But anyway. We were off to Birmingham to go fabric shopping and picking up materials but we were going to make a day of it and go see some of the sites too! Especially the shops.

So I got to test out my new Barbie backpack from Truffle Shuffle. It isn't one of those mini ones either, so it is quite useful. I totally had to add that sheep keyring to it too, so cute. Over all, I say this bag passed the test. It's been made with great quality so if you want to feel plastic fantastic head over to Truffle Shuffle.

Birmingham has a famous shopping centre called the Bull Ring so we hit up that place too. Looking around the mall you saw crazy displays everywhere. I particularly liked this one from River Island.

Topshop had so real cute pieces in. Pastels mixed with sportswear and this adorable Sindy Top.  I'm taking all of this as inspiration for spring this year!

Eventually we had to get to the task at hand and go off on our hunt for fabrics and materials. And it took us everywhere! It felt like we were going down the rabbit hole ending up in places far from the city centre. We were shattered after but we eventually got back.

Despite there being shops galore we didn't really find much clothes we wanted and to be honest, we were on a strapped budget as it was. But Amy scored this amazingly cute Marie Disney top from Primark. It's actually from the sleepwear section but it's totally perfect for everyday too. They had loads of cute things you could rock as an outfit in the sleepwear section so you should totally check it out! Very kind to the purse too ;) Also if you ever wanted to know what £50 of fabric looks like, now you do!

We wanted to kind of do this post as well to explain the absence of my twin Amy. If you've followed us for a while you might of seen some posts she wrote but recently uni has just been overwhelming. I've been helping her all week and being the best personal assistant I can be! But I don't mind at all.

Anyway, when uni ends this year for Amy we should be back to our normal routine!

Stay cute! xxx

Forever 21 Mini Spring Clothing Haul!

Hi cuties!

So obviously now we are getting quite into spring and that means my wardrobe needs a little update! I wanted to pick up some pieces I could easily pair with my other clothes just in case it is colder weather.

I really wanted to try out Forever 21 as they have a shop in the UK and I constantly see people raving over what cute stuff they have! The price doesn't hurt too! More money saved towards our Disney Trip! (read here)

So starting off with something that I pushed myself to buy. This black halter net cold shoulder sweater is gorgeous though. It's quite tight fitting though which made me nervous, but I'm so glad I bought it. I wanted to get something more real me in my wardrobe. This sweater cost £13. Also I'm wearing a lace front we won in a give away! I never really win giveaways so it was a total shock. The wig is a lace front from Webster Wigs which is where I buy all my wigs from now anyway! Really thick and even in these harsh lights doesn't look too shiny or fake.

I also got this sporty white sweater that has cut out white mesh inserts. I love the recent sporty trend that's in fashion right now. It's £13 and I really love it! The fabrics nice and breathable. I had to get that space tee at £9, it's hilarious. It has a nice baggy fit like a band top. It would be a great piece to layer up when it's colder.

Over all I do like my purchases. I mean you do get what you pay for but over all I'm quite happy.

There is some sad personal news I wanted to share. You might of seem him in my Instagram posts or snaps but my dog Oscar recently passed away. He was a complete angel and I grew up with him. Thank you Oscar for being with us for 14 years, we love you.

Catch up, Disney Trips and Magical Harts ♥

Hi cuties!

It's been a little while so I thought I'd do a little catch up! Recently I've been really focusing on mine and Amy's shop Magical Harts.
If you don't know me and sis have our own shop where we sell Japanese fashion inspired accessories, jewellery and more!

Because I've been having to focus on the shop so much to help it grow I've been neglecting the blog and Youtube a little, sorry!!!
We've brought the boater hats back! They were really popular last time and as I type this it's a really warm sunny day so perfect for boater hats! Check out Magical Harts here.

Also Lovely Lor did a review of a bunch of our products. Check it out for a special discount code ;)

Me and Amy have also booked a special twin trip! After Amy's done with uni for this year we will be going to Disneyland Paris! It will be our first holiday with just the two of us, and we can't wait! We plan to really gyaru it up and blog and vlog. So we are going to be pretty broke for a while and super saving for spending money etc.

How are you cuties? Enjoying spring? Hope it's super warm and sunny where you are!

Stay cute xoxo

Rainbow Senshi OOTD MOTD

Hey cuties!

I have loved magical girl anime since a little girl. So naturally, I had to do a co ord based on my favourite anime Sailor moon.

I focused this co ord around my Sailor Moon shop I got from Hot Topic (it actually does have some good cute stuff there.) It's a black skirt with bright neon prints on top, so I wanted to carry that through.

This was one of my older wigs that I haven't worn in ages! But I thought it would really suit. It's like a pastel rainbow.

I'm also wearing my necklace that I made ^^ you can get similar designs from our shop Magical Harts

Outfit Rundown

Wig - Now defunct Geisha Wigs
Necklace - Magical Harts
Asymmetrical Top - H&M
Skirt - Hot Topic

I never really have a proper plan when it comes to my makeup. Well I go with an idea and it usually takes it's own form!

Eyes - Mostly Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Palette
Lashes - Ageha Lashes
Lenses - Vassen Cloud Nine Grey

Lips - Watermelon Soda Jeffree Star

Though I was nervous cause this look is colourful I really like. I guess everyone should release their inner magical girl.

Soul Sister Scans - vol 11, Mipochi and Sport Style Focus

Hi cuties!

So me and Amy have a lot of "old" japanese fashion magazines. Well 2007 to 2013 old. They are mostly gyaru but we have Kera and another as well.

And as unfortunately some fashion trends we loved are falling out of style and also some styles not really being covered anymore. So we thought to scan in our mags so we can share them with everyone! We wont be doing every single page (sorry) and we'll be doing them in blog posts with a portion at a time cause I don't want any ones computers to crash because of too many pictures!

So we did kind of already start this a while ago with a blog post we did in the past of the same one we are going to do today. However I kind of just chose random parts of the magazine and I'm going to do it more organised this time with each post having content relevant to each other.

You will be able to find all the posts I've done of J fashion mag scans on my toolbar! Okay, so that covers everything. Onto the scans~

Had to scan this in, how cute are the co ords! Love this brand.

Introduction/ day of model Mipochi. I love her, she's so stylish.

I really wanted to scan these as this style is kind of in fashion right now in western style. I love the hoodie x skirt sets!

I am dying over that sweater dress!

So this is kind of my first time scanning in magazines so if there's anything different you would like either with the scanning or the way I will be doing my blog posts with them, let me know in the comments.

It was so cool going through my soul sister magazine again feeling very nostalgic over the styles. And really wanting a hoodie x skirt set of my own.

Claire xoxo
